Interior Environments

  Office and Systems Furniture

Procurement and Strategic Sourcing (PASS), in conjunction with Facilities Planning and Management, undertook an extensive Strategic Sourcing RFP effort to select for a preferred supplier for office systems and free standing furniture. As a result of this effort, Interior Environments has been awarded a contract and Allsteel furniture will be the University's new standard for major renovation or new construction projects..

We are pleased to announce that the program is now fully launched to include the majority of your office furniture needs.  Simply contact our sales representative, Reggie Roland, to obtain a quote or peruse furniture and chair options, or how to obtain sample chair for testing.  You may also want to visit Interior Environments website at www.interiorenvironments.com to view their product offerings.  Reggie can be contacted as follows:

Some of the many benefits of this program are listed below:

  • Simple to use;
  • Approximately 13% additional discount off the competitive prices we previously paid for Allsteel's high quality office furniture
  • One point of contact for all your furniture needs
  • One supplier for everything from your basic one time budget needs, to your high end, total renovation needs

We will continue to support and provide furniture from other manufacturers when we are replacing portions of an existing furniture installation, and compatibility is a key to success.

Annual savings to the University community on furniture is estimated to be substantial, both in terms of unit prices paid at the time of purchase and in the future in terms of being able to switch out furniture from one room to another or from building to building due to standardization.

Note from OEHS:

Purchasing of laboratory chairs and stools:

It is a standard requirement for laboratories to be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition1.2.  Laboratory chairs and stools must have smooth, non-porous surfaces that facilitate decontamination3 and clean-up procedures in the event of a spill of chemical, biological, or radioactive materials.  Chairs and stools used in a laboratory setting are optimally upholstered with vinyl or constructed of solid materials such as plastic.  Natural or synthetic fabric upholstery is not acceptable for use in a laboratory.
