Announcing a new WayneBuy Punchout option
Why the Change?
The University is looking for ways to streamline the existing IRB process. A collaboration between Wayne State’s Procurement Department & Business Operations brings you FedEx Office at your fingertips without the need for an IRB. Some of the products offered by FedEx Office include commercial printing, signs & banners, direct-mail and wide-format printing. Simply click the FedEx Office logo now available in WayneBuy as a punchout and begin to build your order
What’s changed?
The new punchout option with FedEx Office will allow you to build your order through their comprehensive web interface, and choose delivery to your office, on campus, or even at locations through Metro Detroit. The new interface will automatically establish a purchase order and corresponding electronic invoice for an effortless billing and payment process.
While this new functionality is focused on replacing a less efficient IRB process, we will slowly transition the IRB option out over a 3 month period, to give department’s time to adjust their operations. In the event the WayneBuy punchout is not suitable for a specific request, FedEx Office will continue to honor Pcard orders.
Benefits
- Easy, convenient interface for building print requests without leaving the office
- Delivery options include office delivery, on-campus pickup, or pickup at nearest convenient FedEx Office Location
- No need to manage IRB encumbrances
- Purchase order issuance and invoicing handle automatically
- Retain past orders for quick re-print jobs
- Email notifications for real time order status updates
Ordering Process
FedEx Office is a Strategic Supplier in WayneBuy. This means, that the order process is as simple as logging into WayneBuy, clicking on the FedEx Office punch-out catalog, filling a shopping cart, and checking out in WayneBuy. In addition, those persons on campus with shopping cart capability (essentially the entire campus community) can now make paperless requests for printing jobs for their business office by using the Assign a Cart function.
WayneBuy Alternatives
While the WayneBuy interface is designed to be easy and convenient, you will still have the option to walk into the nearest FedEx Office location and walk out with your print request. The on-campus location will have a team of trained representatives to ensure walk-in requests can still be accommodated.
If you identify department users that may require this convenience, the recommendation is to outfit them with a University Pcard, to relieve any unnecessary administrative billing efforts. The University Pcard application can be found @ procard.wayne.edu
