Wayne State was recognized by SciQuest
with its 2015 Product Visionary Questie Award
| The SciQuest Corporation recognized Wayne State at it's annual "Next Level" customer conference, with one of it's Questie awards as the Product Visionary of the Year. This award stems from Wayne State's efforts to develop and implement a new Vendor onboarding module, Total Supplier Manager (TSM). This will compliment WayneBuy, the University's requisitioning and purchase order system. This new module will provide several benefits, including more complete Vendor contact information, more accurate tax payer and socioeconomic information, and the ability for select Vendors to manage their own online data. |

"The teams in Procurement and Disbursements have worked long and hard in designing and testing the module", Ken Doherty, AVP for Procurement, stated. "We're excited to be crossing over to the implementation phase of this 10 month project. The integrity of the data in our Vendor database is very important, and it will be worth the effort to further improve that".
To implement TSM, Wayne State's C&IT - Administrative Systems team had to create integrations with our Banner database. SciQuest had never fully implemented TSM with a Banner client, and was very pleased to find Wayne State a willing customer. Bhavani Koneru, Director of Business Applications, said "I am very proud of the efforts of our programmers in not only determining how to import the data elements from TSM, but to take it one step further and be able to export data back simultaneously, so that both systems remain in synch. David Thompson and Syed Ali are to be commended in their extraordinary efforts".
Initial implementation will only cover what would commonly be known as Corporations in the Banner database. Once the system has been in production and proves successful, an assessment will be made on whether to expand TSM's use to vendors classified as individuals, meaning they have served as an independent contractor to the University.
